What fluids are magnetic inductive flow meters used for?

Equipment Configuration:magnetic inductive flowmeter

Magnetic inductive flowmeter is suitable for measuring the volume flow of conductive liquids and slurries, such as tap water, corrosive liquids, suspensions, industrial fluids and seawater. Not applicable to non-conductive fluids, the choice of fluid conductivity, temperature, pressure and solid particles and other factors need to be considered.

Project Overview

Electromagnetic flowmeters are suitable for measuring volume flow in conductive liquids and slurries. This type of fluid mainly includes:

  1. Water-based solution: such as tap water, industrial water, sewage, wastewater, etc.

  2. Corrosive liquids: strong acids, strong alkali, etc. Since the contact materials of the electromagnetic flowmeter are usually corrosion-resistant, they are suitable for such fluids.

  3. Suspension. And slurry: mud, pulp, pulp and other fluids containing solid particles or fibers

  4. Industrial fluids: in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, textile, food, pharmaceutical, paper and other industries.

  5. Seawater and other electrolyte solutions: Due to their good conductivity, electromagnetic flowmeters can accurately measure such fluids.

Electromagnetic flow meters are not suitable for non-conductive fluids, such as gases, oils, most organic solvents, etc., because these fluids do not produce the necessary eddy current for measurement. For flow meters, factors such as the conductivity of the fluid (usually required to be greater than 5 μS/cm), temperature, pressure, and whether it contains solid particles or fibers need to be considered to ensure accurate measurement and extend the life of the instrument.
