Flow measurement is inseparable from the three elements of working conditions: medium, temperature and pressure, and gas turbine flowmeters are certainly no exception. This article will introduce the pressure level of gas turbine flowmeter.

Choose the appropriate pressure level so that the flow measurement can be accurate. If the pressure-bearing capacity of the flow meter is less than the pressure of the gas flow in the pipeline, it will cause cracks in the flow meter sensor and lead to gas leakage. If it is toxic gas, it will cause great harm. Moreover, the higher the pressure level, the more expensive it is. It is also a waste to use a large pressure level in a small pressure environment.

Gas turbine flowmeters with different calibers and installation methods also have different pressure levels. Take the TMB series of Supmea flow as an example:

Between DN4-DN40, The default thread installation pressure rating is 6.3MPa. If you choose flange installation, the pressure rating is 2.5Mpa.

DN50, the default flange installation pressure rating is 2.5MPa. If you choose threaded installation, the pressure rating is 6.3Mpa.

Between DN65-DN80, the default flange installation pressure rating is 1.6MPa. If you choose threaded installation, the pressure rating is 6.3Mpa.

Between DN100-DN200, the default flange installation pressure rating is 1.6MPa.

Turbine flowmeters are more suitable for small-diameter flow measurements, so differential pressure flowmeters with higher accuracy are generally chosen for diameters exceeding DN200. In addition to the pressure rating of the flange and thread mentioned above, it can also be specially customized to provide measurement of high-pressure gas flow.
