Rotameter is a commonly used flow measurement instrument used to measure the flow of liquids and gases. Its structure is relatively simple and mainly consists of the following parts:
1. Pipe: Rotameter usually uses stainless steel pipe as the measurement channel. Fluid enters from the bottom and rises up the pipe, and the flow rate is measured by watching the float pushed by the fluid.
2. Float: The float is the core component of the rotameter. It is usually a small cylindrical or spherical object with a density slightly greater than the fluid being measured. The float can move freely up and down and rise or fall with the flow of fluid. There is a mark on the float, and by observing the mark's position, the flow value can be read.
3. Indicator: The outside of the rotameter is equipped with an indicator to display the position of the float, thereby knowing the flow rate. The indicator is usually a dial or digital display.
4. Control valve (optional): Some rotameters are equipped with a control valve to regulate the flow of fluid, which can limit or increase the flow when needed.
5. Inlet and outlet connections: The bottom and top of the rotameter have inlet and outlet connections respectively, which are used to introduce and discharge the measured fluid into and out of the flowmeter.
Working principle:
When fluid passes through the rotor flowmeter, the fluid will push the float upward. The position of the float depends on the flow rate of the fluid. A larger flow rate will push the float higher, while a smaller flow rate will make the float lower. The flow rate of the fluid can be determined by reading the scale or number on the top of the float and the indicator.
It is worth noting that rotameter is suitable for some specific fluid conditions, and the appropriate flowmeter model and material need to be selected according to the specific application. In addition, when measuring gas, the impact of gas pressure and temperature on the flow meter reading needs to be considered.
The magnetic inductive flowmeter industry, these are successful cases with comparable and reference value.
