The United States will release its trade data for the entire year of last year in February. However, from January to November 2013, the total import and export of goods by the United States was US$3.57 trillion, which means that China is now basically the world's largest trader of goods. Throughout 2013, the metal tube float flowmeter industry performed relatively strongly in terms of import and export trade. In terms of exports, in 2013, the export growth rate of industrial automation instrument systems, electronic measuring instruments, testing machines, experimental analysis instruments, medical instruments, etc. was more than 40%. Industrial automation instruments and electronic measuring instruments, which had not been exported in large quantities in the past, increased by as much as 76.9% and 104.5%. In terms of imports, in recent years, the value of advanced instruments and equipment imported into my country from abroad each year has exceeded RMB 500 billion.

Despite this, China’s metal tube float flowmeter industry still faces serious shortcomings, one of which is the backwardness of independent research and development of high-end instruments. It is estimated that more than 90% of my country's high-end instruments rely on imports. Under this circumstance, improving the instrument research and development efforts of Chinese technology-based enterprises has become one of the key points for the development of the metal tube float flowmeter industry.
