Card-mounted vortex flowmeter parameters
The vortex flowmeter is based on the Karman vortex principle to measure the volume flow of gas, steam or liquid, the volume flow or mass flow of standard conditions.

Turbine flowmeter is a common flow testing equipment, which is widely used in various industrial and commercial fields to measure the flow rate of liquid or gas through the device equipped with impeller in axial direction. However, in practice, the turbine flowmeter is often only suitable for small diameter pipelines, but not for large diameter pipelines.
Turbine flowmeter is only suitable for small diameter pipeline for the following reasons:
1. Low velocity of fluid in large diameter pipelines
In large diameter pipes, the velocity of the fluid inside the pipe is lower due to the larger pipe size. This means that the measuring impeller of the turbine flowmeter is affected by changes in fluid velocity, which affects measurement accuracy. In small diameter pipes, the flow velocity is higher and the temperature and viscosity are lower, so the accuracy of the turbine flowmeter is higher.
2. Turbine flowmeter for large diameter pipe size is larger
In large diameter pipelines, larger measuring impellers are required to accommodate the flow velocity of the fluid. This makes the turbine flowmeter structure more complex and more difficult during installation and maintenance.
3. Greater potential for mechanical failure
Turbine flowmeters may be exposed to greater mechanical stresses due to the greater pressure of liquid or gas flow in large diameter pipes. This can lead to damage to the measuring impeller and thus to the entire turbine flowmeter.
In summary, turbine flowmeters are only suitable for small diameter pipelines because when using large diameter pipelines, the measurement accuracy and reliability of the turbine flowmeter is compromised due to the effects of changing fluid velocities, larger measuring impeller sizes, and higher mechanical pressures.
The magnetic inductive flowmeter industry, these are successful cases with comparable and reference value.
