Measuring Principle: Ultrasonic level gauge uses ultrasonic propagation characteristics for liquid level measurement, while radar level gauge uses microwave radar technology for liquid level measurement. Application scope: ultrasonic level gauge is suitable for clean liquid, corrosive liquid and part of the solid material level height measurement, such as storage tanks, pools, reactors and other equipment. Radar level gauge is more suitable for large storage tanks, silos, ball mills and other equipment level and material level measurement, especially in high temperature, high pressure, steam and other special environments.
Measurement accuracy: The measurement accuracy of radar level gauge is usually higher than that of ultrasonic level gauge, especially when measuring volatile and foamy liquids, ultrasonic level gauge may be affected by the propagation of ultrasonic waves and errors may occur. Installation: Ultrasonic level gauge usually requires separate piping design and bracket installation, while radar level gauge can be installed directly without additional piping installation, which reduces the measurement cost.
Cost: Radar level gauges are usually more expensive than ultrasonic level gauges due to their more complex structural design and more sophisticated measurement procedure. Especially when the user needs with customised functions and other requirements, the price will be higher.
