Can V-cone flowmeter measure water flow?

V-cone flow meters (also known as differential pressure flow meters) can be used to measure water flow. The V-cone flowmeter is a differential pressure flowmeter that uses the pressure changes when the fluid flows through the contraction section and the expansion section to calculate the flow rate.

The principle of the V-cone flowmeter is that in the V-cone pipe, when the fluid passes through the contraction section, the speed increases and the pressure decreases, and then the speed decreases and the pressure increases when it passes through the expansion section. By measuring the pressure difference at these two cross-sections, the flow rate of the fluid can be deduced.

The advantages of V-cone flowmeter are that it can measure a larger flow range, has smaller pressure loss, and is less sensitive to changes in fluid characteristics. Therefore, it is widely used in many applications, including water flow measurement.
