View MoreThe turbine flowmeter can be powered by 24VDC, 220VAC or battery power according to the requirements. 24VDC is suitable for industrial automation systems, providing stable voltage and high quality signals; 220VAC is suitable for places with stable AC power supply, no need to worry about the battery life; Battery power is suitable for places where there is no external power supply or inconvenient wiring, with compact design and low power consumption.
As a commonly used flow measurement instrument, turbine flowmeters can adopt a variety of power supply methods according to different application environments and needs. The following is an introduction to three common power supply methods:
24VDC power supply:
This is a DC power supply method commonly used in industrial automation control systems. Turbine flowmeters powered by 24VDC are usually compatible with the power supply in the control system and are easy to integrate into existing automation systems. This power supply method can provide stable working voltage and ensure the accurate operation of the flow meter. The output signal may be a pulse signal or an analog signal (such as 4-20mA), which is suitable for long-distance transmission. For example, the output signal amplitude of some turbine flow meters will change with the power supply voltage. When powered by 24VDC, the signal amplitude is approximately 20V, ensuring good signal quality.
220VAC power supply:
AC power supply method, suitable for places with stable AC power supply. 220VAC is a common civilian and industrial voltage level and is very useful in environments where battery operation is not required and AC power is available on site. This type of flow meter usually contains circuitry that converts alternating current into the required direct current to operate the sensor and electronic components. Since it directly uses grid power, there is no need to worry about battery life, and it is suitable for long-term continuous operation.
Battery powered:
Suitable for situations where there is no external power supply or wiring is inconvenient, such as field monitoring, mobile equipment or temporary installation points. Battery-powered turbine flow meters are compact, easy to carry and install, and easy to maintain. In order to extend battery life, this type of flow meter often adopts a low-power design and may have automatic sleep and wake-up functions. There are various battery types, including conventional dry batteries, rechargeable lithium batteries, etc. The use time depends on the power consumption and battery capacity of the flow meter. Some designs can guarantee a service life of more than 2 years after leaving the factory. For flow meters that require pulse signal output, an external power supply is usually required because the battery may not be able to continuously provide sufficient energy.
Each power supply method has its applicable scenarios, advantages and disadvantages, and users should choose the most appropriate power supply solution based on actual needs.
The magnetic inductive flowmeter industry, these are successful cases with comparable and reference value.
