The installation point of the external clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter should be a section of pipe that is always filled with liquid.
Project Overview
The installation point of the external clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter should be a section of pipe that is always filled with liquid, such as a pipe that flows vertically upwards or a pipe that flows horizontally, and ensure that the surface temperature of the pipe at the measurement point is within the temperature range of the transducer. If you know the internal condition of the pipe, you should choose a portion of the pipe that is free of excessive corrosion or scaling.
Installation method of external clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter
Before installation, you should first select the dense part of the pipe for sensor installation, and then clean the area outside the pipe where the sensor is to be installed to remove rust. The paint, if there is any anti-rust layer, should also be removed. It is best to polish it with an angle grinder, then use a clean rag dipped in acetone or alcohol to wipe off the oil and dust, and then apply enough ultrasonic special coating on the pipe wall around the center where the sensor is to be installed. Coupling agent, and finally tie the sensor tightly to the pipe wall. Be careful that there are no air bubbles or gravel between the attached sensor and the pipe wall. Common installation methods are V method, Z method, N method and W method.
