The correct installation of the vortex flowmeter is an important link to ensure the normal operation of the meter. Improper installation will affect the accuracy of the meter at best, affect the service life of the meter at worst, and even damage the meter.

1. Determine the installation location

1. Choose a place with smooth fluid flow: avoid installing in areas where the fluid flow rate changes rapidly or where eddies and vortices exist.

2. Avoid particulate matter: Ensure that the fluid at the selected location does not contain a large amount of particulate matter to prevent clogging of the flow meter.

3. Space requirements: There should be enough space around the installation location to facilitate installation, wiring and subsequent maintenance.

4. Avoid vibration: Try to avoid installing in areas with strong vibration. If it cannot be avoided, a fixing device needs to be added to the flow meter 2d (d is the diameter of the flow meter).

5. Environmental requirements: Keep away from strong electrical equipment, high-frequency equipment, strong switching power supply equipment, high-temperature heat sources and radiation sources.

2. Pipeline requirements for instrument installation

1. The inner diameter of the upstream and downstream piping should be the same. If there is a difference, the inner diameter Dp of the piping and the inner diameter Db of the vortex instrument meter should satisfy the following relationship: 0.98Db≤Dp≤1.05Db;

2. The upstream and downstream piping should be concentric with the inner diameter of the flow meter meter. , the non-axiality between them should be less than 0.05Db;

3. The sealing gasket between the instrument and the flange cannot protrude into the pipe during installation, and its inner diameter should be 1 larger than the inner diameter of the meter. -2mm;

4. Installation design of pressure measuring holes and temperature measuring holes. When the pipeline under test needs to be installed with a temperature and pressure transmitter, the pressure measuring hole should be set at 3-5D downstream, and the temperature measuring hole should be set at 6-8D downstream;

5. The instrument is in the pipeline It can be installed horizontally, vertically or tilted;

6. When measuring gas, install the instrument in the vertical pipeline, and the gas flow direction is not limited. However, if the pipeline contains a small amount of liquid, in order to prevent the liquid from entering the instrument measuring tube, the air flow should flow from bottom to top;

7. When measuring liquid, in order to ensure that the tube is filled with liquid, it is necessary to install it in a vertical or inclined pipeline When installing the instrument, ensure that the liquid flow direction is from bottom to top. If the pipeline contains a small amount of gas, in order to prevent the gas from entering the measuring tube of the instrument, the instrument should be installed at a lower position of the pipeline;

8. When measuring high and low temperature media, attention should be paid to insulation measures. The high temperature inside the converter (inside the meter housing) should generally not exceed 70°C; low temperatures can easily cause condensation inside the converter, reducing the insulation resistance of the printed circuit board and affecting the normal operation of the instrument;

3. Debugging and verification

1. Debugging: After the installation is completed, debug and check the operating status of the flow meter.

2. Verification: Check the measurement accuracy and stability of the vortex flowmeter by conducting flow tests on the fluid.

IV. Other matters needing attention

1. Straight pipe section requirements: There should be sufficient length of straight pipe section in front of the flow meter, generally from the first 10 days to the first 30 days–40d (depending on the interference source), at least 5d to 6d after the flow meter.

2. Installation method: Vertical installation method is preferred, and the medium passes through the flow meter from bottom to top. When installing horizontally, attention should be paid to the outlet pressure and the highest point of the pipeline.

3. Measuring high-temperature fluid: When measuring high-temperature fluid, try to install it vertically. If it is installed horizontally, special attention must be paid to the impact of temperature on the flow meter.

4. Pipe diameter: The pipe diameter should be slightly larger than or equal to the inner diameter of the instrument.

5. Use of sealing ring: The inner diameter of the sealing ring should be slightly larger than or equal to the inner diameter of the instrument to ensure the sealing effect.
