Project Overview
Instruments that measure fluid flow are collectively called flow meters or flow meters. Flow meter is one of the important instruments in industrial measurement. With the development of industrial production, the requirements for the accuracy and range of flow measurement are getting higher and higher. There are also various types of flow meters. Hesheng Measurement and Control will give you a brief understanding of the differences between commonly used electromagnetic flow meters and vortex flow meters. What are they:
1. Electromagnetic flowmeter
(1) Working principle: The measurement principle of the electromagnetic flowmeter sensor is based on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction, which is related to the axis of the measuring tube and the magnetic field lines. A pair of detection electrodes are installed on the mutually perpendicular tube walls. When the conductive liquid moves along the axis of the measuring tube, the conductive liquid cuts the magnetic lines of force and generates an induced potential. This induced potential is detected by the two electrodes on the measuring tube. The value is: E=KBVD, E is the induced potential, K is the instrument constant, B is the magnetic induction intensity, V is the average flow velocity in the cross section of the measuring tube, D is the inner diameter of the measuring tube;
(2) Scope of application: Generally only applicable to conductive applications Liquids have higher requirements on the purity of the medium. Due to the limitations of its working principle, it cannot measure non-conductive media. Electromagnetic flowmeters are widely used in chemical industry, water treatment, food production and other fields, and can measure conductive liquids with high accuracy.
(3) Accuracy and stability: The accuracy and stability are high and can reach an accuracy of 0.5%, so it is more suitable for occasions that require high-precision measurement.
(4) Features:
High accuracy, strong applicability, and can measure a variety of media.
It has strong anti-interference and can be used in various harsh environments.
High reliability, stable working performance and long life.
Small size, light weight, easy to install and move.
Various display methods facilitate users to conduct real-time monitoring and data processing.
2. Vortex flowmeter:
(1) Working principle: It works based on the "Karman vortex" principle. Set up a non-streamlined flow element (such as a triangular prism-type vortex generator) in the fluid. When the flow speed is large enough, a vortex will be generated downstream of the flow element. The frequency of the vortex has a linear relationship with the medium flow rate within a certain range. By measuring The vortex frequency is used to calculate the flow rate of the fluid.
(2) Scope of application: Suitable for liquids or gases, but there are certain requirements for the temperature, pressure, and viscosity of the medium. It is not suitable for measuring viscous liquids, granular solid media, and liquids containing foam and bubbles. Vortex flow meters are widely used in tap water, gas and other industries.
(3) Accuracy and stability: Accuracy and stability are relatively low, generally between 1% and 2%.
(4) Features:
Small pressure loss and large measuring range.
When measuring the volume flow rate under working conditions, it is almost not affected by fluid density, pressure, temperature, viscosity and other parameters.
There are no moving mechanical parts, so it has high reliability and low maintenance.
The instrument parameters can be stable for a long time and can be used in a wide temperature range.Work within.
It has analog standard signal and digital pulse signal output, and is easy to be used with digital systems such as computers.
When making specific selections, factors such as cost, maintenance convenience, reliability, and life expectancy also need to be comprehensively considered. In addition, each flow meter has specific technical specifications and performance indicators, such as range ratio, accuracy level, repeatability, zero-point stability, etc., which should be carefully reviewed and compared when selecting.
