Installation requirements for metal tube float flow meters

The metal rotor flowmeter is a variable area flowmeter. It has the characteristics of small size, wide detection range, and easy use, and is deeply loved by customers. Used to measure the flow of liquid, gas and steam, especially suitable for low flow medium flow measurement.

When installing and using a metal rotor flowmeter, special attention should be paid to the following matters:

1. The metal rotor flowmeter must be installed vertically. The fluid to be measured flows through the tapered tube from bottom to top. The diameter of the inlet and outlet of the straight pipe should be 5 times the diameter of the instrument. For newly installed pipelines, the pipelines should be cleaned before installing the flow meter.

2. The valve should be installed upstream of the flow meter, and the flow regulating valve should be installed 5 to 10 times the diameter of the downstream meter. For small diameter instruments, a filter should be installed upstream. If the medium to be measured contains magnetic substances, a magnetic filter should be installed in front of the flow meter

3. In order to facilitate the maintenance and replacement of the flow meter, a bypass pipe should be connected when the meter is installed.

4. The metal rotameter needs to be cleaned regularly. Especially when the measured medium is dirty, the pipes and float should be cleaned in time. In this way, long-term stable measurements can be maintained.

5. The measurement accuracy of metal tube float flowmeter is generally 2.5. When higher measurement accuracy is required, metal tube rotameter is not suitable.

6. For angular metal float flowmeters whose inlet and outlet are not in a straight line, when used for liquids, pay attention to whether there is air remaining in the float displacement sleeve, which must be completely drained. If the liquid contains tiny bubbles and tends to accumulate in the casing when flowing, it should be drained regularly. This is more important for small diameter instruments, otherwise the flow indication will be significantly affected.
