For corrosive liquids, PTFE lined metal rotameters are recommended due to the high corrosion resistance of the PTFE material.
Project Overview
The liquid contact material of ordinary metal rotameter is stainless steel, that is, the material of the sensor is stainless steel. This material is very suitable for cleaning liquids. But if the medium to be measured is a corrosive liquid, our manufacturer recommends a PTFE-lined rotor flowmeter.
Mainly for the following reasons:

1. Tetrafluoroethylene (polytetrafluoroethylene, PTFE) is a highly corrosion-resistant material that can resist the erosion of most chemicals , including acids, bases, oxidants and various organic solvents. When measuring corrosive liquids, using a PTFE-lined flow meter can protect the measuring tube and rotor from corrosion and extend the service life of the flow meter.
2. Smoothness: PTFE has a very low friction coefficient, which makes the rotor have less resistance when moving in the measuring tube, making the response more sensitive and the measurement more accurate.

3. Wide temperature range: PTFE has a wide operating temperature range and can maintain good mechanical properties and chemical stability in high and low temperature environments. The PTFE-lined metal rotor flowmeter can measure media up to 400°C, while ordinary metal rotor flowmeters can withstand high temperatures up to 200°C.
Therefore, for applications that require measurement of corrosive media or have higher requirements for cleanliness, accuracy, and temperature resistance, PTFE-lined rotor flowmeters are an effective solution.
