1. Selection of media

Vortex flowmeter is suitable for gas, liquid, steam and other media. It is not suitable for the following types of media:

1. Fluids containing a lot of solid particles or suspended matter;

2. Media with excessive kinematic viscosity under working conditions, such as some high Viscosity oil (such as heavy oil);

3. Medium that is easy to crystallize, such as sulfur, etc.;

4. Medium that is corrosive to the instrument material.

2. Selection of flow range

1. The common flow rate should be controlled in the middle and upper part of the measurable range of the vortex street. Since the measurement of the lower limit flow of the vortex street is easily affected by pipeline vibration, Measurements with lower limits should be avoided as much as possible.

2. When the flow range exceeds the measurable range of the vortex flowmeter, the diameter can be reduced or expanded. However, it should be noted that the diameter of the instrument should not be too large. After the diameter is reduced, the flow rate increases and the increase Without resistance and back pressure, cavitation is prone to occur when diameter expansion occurs; when the straight pipe section allows, "reducing head + straight pipe section" should be selected to ensure stable measurement of the fluid; the Reynolds number should also be considered when selecting the flow range Is it within the normal range?

3. Selection of medium temperature

1. Select the sensor head element corresponding to the temperature level according to the maximum temperature of the medium, and the maximum working temperature of the medium should be lower than the rated upper limit temperature of the sensor;

2. When the medium is steam, a sensor model with a relatively high temperature grade should be selected;

3. Consider overhauling the temperature of the purge medium.

IV. Selection of protection level

Generally, the appropriate IP protection level should be selected according to the installation location of the vortex flowmeter. Commonly used IP protection levels include IP65, IP67, IP68 etc. (IP65 represents protection against dust intrusion and water spray, IP67 represents protection against dust intrusion and temporary submersion, and IP68 represents protection against dust intrusion and continuous submersion.)

1. Installed indoors, choose IP65 is enough;

2. When installed outdoors above the ground, choose a protection level above IP65;

3. When installed outdoors in a ditch below the ground, choose IP68 and separate Type amplifier to prevent rain water from soaking and damaging the amplifier after rain;

4. Explosion-proof vortex flowmeter should be used in some flammable and explosive situations.
