1. Structure and working principle

Turbine flowmeter is composed of turbine, flow guide, shell and transmitter. The rotational speed of the turbine is directly proportional to the flow rate of the fluid. By measuring the rotational speed of the turbine, the flow rate of the fluid can be calculated.

Vortex flowmeter

Its working principle is that when the fluid passes through the vortex generator, alternating vortices will be generated on both sides of the vortex generator. These vortices are called Karman vortices. The frequency of Karman vortex is proportional to the flow rate of the fluid. 2. Measurement accuracy

The measurement accuracy of turbine flowmeter is relatively high, generally within the error range of ±0.5% to ±1%. However, since the turbine flowmeter has certain requirements on the physical properties of the fluid, there are certain limitations in the scope of use.

The measurement accuracy of vortex flowmeters can generally reach an error range of ±1% to ±2%. Although its accuracy is slightly lower than that of turbine flowmeters, vortex flowmeters have lower requirements on the physical properties of the fluid and have a wider range of applications.

3. Scope of application

The scope of application of both flowmeters is similar, and they are mainly used to measure the flow of fluids such as gas, liquid and steam.

Due to its high requirements on the physical properties of the fluid, the turbine flowmeter needs to pay attention to changes in the fluid's viscosity, temperature, pressure and other parameters during use to avoid affecting the measurement results.

Compared with turbine flowmeters, vortex flowmeters have lower requirements on the physical properties of the fluid, so the requirements for the type and state of the fluid during use are broader. For example, for some fluids containing impurities, dust, and particles, the vortex flowmeter can still measure normally.

4. Maintenance and maintenance

The maintenance and upkeep of flow meters mainly includes regular inspection, cleaning and calibration of the instrument to ensure the accuracy and stability of measurement. 

During use of the turbine flowmeter, care must be taken to avoid severe vibration and impact to prevent damage to the meter. When using the vortex flowmeter, you need to pay attention to avoid the impact of external interference on the measurement results, such as electromagnetic interference.
